{"id":6767,"date":"2025-11-07T10:36:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T16:36:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lagnoticias.com\/?p=6767"},"modified":"2025-11-08T11:23:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T17:23:08","slug":"la-ia-se-convierte-en-una-herramienta-clave-para-predecir-erupciones-volcanicas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lagnoticias.com\/en\/2025\/11\/07\/la-ia-se-convierte-en-una-herramienta-clave-para-predecir-erupciones-volcanicas\/","title":{"rendered":"La IA se convierte en una herramienta clave para predecir erupciones volc\u00e1nicas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Un equipo internacional de investigadores desarroll\u00f3 una herramienta basada en inteligencia artificial (IA) y Teor\u00eda de la Se\u00f1al capaz de&nbsp;predecir erupciones volc\u00e1nicas&nbsp;con al menos 12 horas de antelaci\u00f3n&nbsp;y confirmar su finalizaci\u00f3n en tan solo tres, un avance considerado \u201ccrucial\u201d para mejorar la gesti\u00f3n de riesgos y la protecci\u00f3n civil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El estudio, liderado por la&nbsp;Universidad de Granada&nbsp;y en el que participan cient\u00edficos de la&nbsp;Universidad de Colima (M\u00e9xico), el&nbsp;Instituto Volcanol\u00f3gico de Canarias (Involcan)&nbsp;y la&nbsp;Universidad de Canterbury (Nueva Zelanda), sienta las bases para una nueva generaci\u00f3n de sistemas de monitoreo volc\u00e1nico m\u00e1s precisos y predictivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La metodolog\u00eda fue validada con \u00e9xito durante las erupciones del&nbsp;volc\u00e1n Tajogaite, en La Palma (Islas Canarias, 2021), y del&nbsp;Volc\u00e1n de Fuego de Colima&nbsp;en M\u00e9xico. El sistema analiza en tiempo real distintos par\u00e1metros s\u00edsmicos para anticipar eventos eruptivos y describir su evoluci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El modelo combina tres indicadores clave:&nbsp;entrop\u00eda de Shannon,&nbsp;\u00edndice de frecuencia&nbsp;y&nbsp;curtosis.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>La\u00a0entrop\u00eda\u00a0mide el grado de desorden en las se\u00f1ales s\u00edsmicas, que tiende a disminuir cuando los sismos se organizan antes de una erupci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>El\u00a0\u00edndice de frecuencia\u00a0detecta cambios asociados a diferentes tipos de actividad magm\u00e1tica.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La\u00a0curtosis, en tanto, ayuda a identificar eventos s\u00edsmicos impulsivos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan la universidad espa\u00f1ola, en el caso del Tajogaite, el m\u00e9todo permiti\u00f3&nbsp;anticipar la erupci\u00f3n con m\u00e1s de nueve horas de margen, y determinar casi en tiempo real su finalizaci\u00f3n, al detectar una variaci\u00f3n clara en la entrop\u00eda de Shannon coincidente con el cese de la actividad volc\u00e1nica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el&nbsp;Volc\u00e1n de Fuego de Colima, el an\u00e1lisis de una d\u00e9cada de registros (2013\u20132022) demostr\u00f3 que la t\u00e9cnica es \u00fatil para identificar&nbsp;fases eruptivas intensas, crecimiento de domos de lava&nbsp;y el paso del volc\u00e1n a&nbsp;periodos de reposo,&nbsp;publica EFE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los investigadores sostienen que incorporar este tipo de herramientas en los sistemas de monitoreo representa&nbsp;un salto cualitativo en la seguridad y la respuesta ante emergencias volc\u00e1nicas.
