Su muerte fue confirmada por fuentes cercanas a la familia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trayectoria pol\u00edtica y servicio p\u00fablico<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Borgo Bustamante ocup\u00f3 la Vicepresidencia de la Rep\u00fablica entre 1994 y 1999, durante el gobierno de Armando Calder\u00f3n Sol, donde tambi\u00e9n ejerci\u00f3 como ministro de la Presidencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su vida pol\u00edtica comenz\u00f3 en 1960, cuando fue nombrado secretario privado de una junta de gobierno. Posteriormente, fue primer designado a la presidencia en la administraci\u00f3n de Carlos Humberto Romero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante el gobierno de Alfredo Cristiani, se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como asesor de la misi\u00f3n salvadore\u00f1a ante la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) en Nueva York. M\u00e1s tarde, represent\u00f3 al pa\u00eds como embajador en Espa\u00f1a entre 2004 y 2009.
